Let’s have a date! A ‘Best Before’ date, to be precise.
But how is that date decided? How accurate is it? And, if it passes, what happens then?
It’s a legal requirement for labelling our bubble bath that we specify a date by which it should be used. On our packaging, you will find an egg-timer symbol followed by dd.mm.yy - usually six months after the batch was made.
We know that if our bubble bath bars are kept cool and dry, they will still be in perfect condition within that time-frame.
But what if that date has passed?
Don’t panic!
As the bubble bars get older, they may lose some of their scent as the essential oils naturally evaporate. Colours may fade slightly. Their capacity to generate oodles of bubbles may decline.
Obviously they are at their best before their ‘Best Before’ date.
But they don’t suddenly change. There’s no magical date when they are fine one moment and ‘off’ the next. They may be less potent but they can still be used - safely and, for a long while, with good results.
So, if you find a forgotten bubble bath bar at the back of the cupboard, there's no need to waste it. It might not be as good as new, but it’ll still be good.
